Easy to install

They can be installed by yourself in just ten minutes. You will need a screwdriver as well as some patience. The first step is to take off the original cover from your key. The original cover needs to be removed before the new one cover can be put in place.
After removing the old cover after removing the old cover, you can use a flathead to pry the four main attachment clips from the driver side of fob assembly. These are marked in red in the image below. Be aware of the yellow locating tabs that have to be deactivated.
After taking the battery off, replace it with a brand new # CR2032 3 Volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the opening on the fob, and the "-" side should face the buttons made of rubber.
Attach the cover for the passenger side mirror by aligning locating tabs. Once you've done this take the fob for the driver's side back into your car and test it. Press the push button located at the top of the key. If everything is working as it should, the parking lights should be turned on and the doors will shut.

The key fob houses a microchip that communicates with the Body Control Module. When you insert the key into your Fiat car, it presses a button on the ignition switch, which serves as an "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM will then be capable of reading the transponder in the key fob and verify that it's valid.
